Born in Sierra Vista, Arizona, Michael Doerner began his professional career in 1988 with Ballet Eddy Toussaint de Montréal. In 1991, Michael became a member of the National Ballet of Canada, performing all over the world in countries including Germany, The Netherlands, Israel, Korea, China and Japan. He came to the Company in 2001 directly from two seasons with Alberta Ballet where he performed in countries including Finland and Egypt. Mr. Doerner has also performed as a guest artist with Ballet Met in Columbus, Ohio in 2000. Mr. Doerner studied with Kay Knight at Muncie Ballet Theatre in Indiana, at The School of American Ballet in New York, and the National Ballet School in Toronto.
